Luxury goods marketing to Gen Y - that different from our parents?

Interesting article written by Duke Greenhill (CEO of Greenhill+Partners) about how the marketing strategy of luxury goods needs to shift between generations. While Gen Y is questioning the origin of goods more so than their parents, think he is underestimating how much Millennials still want to be in the "I can" group while knowing there are those still in the "I can't". Marketing will still need to be grounded in the idea that products can improve your place in society and there must be an "other" for that principle to hold.

And Im back!

Great Day in NYC. Walked from home to the LES. Had to be sentimental and snap this photo. Also stumbled upon the Essex Street Market. Can't believe I had never been - it's part bodega, part farmers market, part trading post. Also - need to go back to "Old Hollywood". What a cool store.

Great day in NYC.

Love this ad!

I loved this ad the first time I saw it. What a smart way to show product features and keep the story narrative!
